Cherry Almond Smoothie

Fresh Ontario Cherries

It’s cherry season in Ontario – an ideal time to take advantage of their impressive health benefits. There’s so many ways to enjoy them; however, I thought another smoothie recipe might be appreciated.

1 cup unsweetened almond milk
15 fresh cherries, pitted
2 tbsp almond butter
1-2 ice cubes, optional

Blend well and, if you prefer a sweeter smoothie, add a bit of mayple syrup or honey.

Nutritional Info per Serving:140 calories, 9g total fat,  90mg sodium, 4g dietary fiber, 6g sugar, 5g protein
