Making the Most of Facebook

As I strive to be more active on social media, especially on Facebook, you may have noticed that I started with a group Fans of Thirteen Moons and then added theThirteen Moons Culinary Wellness Retreat page. I’ve struggled to understand the differences between the two and often wondered “why have both?”. With the help of my great summer intern, Michelle Davis, I think we’ve determined they each have value.  So this post is an attempt to explain what we have planned to make them both more engaging.
The Facebook Group Fans of Thirteen Moons is basically there to celebrate a common interest and foster discussions between fans. It is somewhere that you can share your experiences with other people who have the same interests as you. Who doesn’t like to be able to connect with a like minded community? We want to hear from you! So start posting those fun photos you took the last time you were here, share some of your memories for everyone to enjoy, or comment on your experience with the Thirteen Moons cookbook.
The Facebook Page “Thirteen Moons Culinary Wellness Retreat” is the business page where we will promote what we’re all about.  You will notice we are going to become more engaged in this page by posting interesting things for everyone to see, share and even learn about. We have recently come up with a plan to post different items for each day of the week. Here is a preview of the plan:Meatless MondaysThoughtful/Inspirational TuesdaysWhat’s coming up WednesdaysTalk to us ThursdaysFan Feature FridaysFun Fact Saturdays, and Video/Article Sundays. Please feel free to share any comments or ideas that you have for new posts. Keep in mind that you must “like” this page in order to see these interesting and inspiring posts!
Some of you have already joined the “Fans of Thirteen Moons” group, while others have liked the “Thirteen Moons Culinary Wellness Retreat” page, and some of you have supported both. Thank you! And we welcome new fans and likes, which you can do without becoming a Facebook friend. So please show your support for us in this way.
We really want our Facebook presence to be interesting and informative for everyone, and we look forward to communicating with you there.
