This retreat offers a calm weekend of understanding, where bereaved mothers may safely contemplate the loss of their child and indulge in opportunities for self-care. Guided by two experienced social workers, participants will appreciate the therapeutic environment created within a small group, where it is safe to talk openly about the loss of your child. The peaceful setting of Thirteen Moons Wellness offers the perfect space to step away from the bustle of your everyday life, reflect on your experience of loss and care gently for your healing heart.

Join us for an easy, relaxing weekend where you will be offered comfort, care and relaxation. Surrounded by the beauty of nature at Thirteen Moons Wellness, indulge yourself during plenty of free time between group discussion and activities. Explore hiking trails, labyrinth walks, guided art and writing activities, quiet time and a connection with others who understand.

Facilitators: April Boyd, MSW & Maureen Pollard, MSW

April Boyd is a social work therapist and the mother of Nora, a little girl whom she met only briefly but who has forever changed her life. She is also the founder of the Love & Loss Project, an online comfort station for women who have experienced infant loss and the operator of a private therapy practice.
Maureen Pollard is a seasoned provider of support for bereaved parents who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth or early infant death. She is a certified bereavement care educator and a Compassionate Bereavement Care Provider, specializing in supporting individuals who have experienced a traumatic loss.
