A harvest of season vegetables in a wicker basket

Spend this first weekend of summer, savouring the peace and tranquility of a country retreat with the added benefit of soaking in some of Louise’s culinary expertise.  Two cooking workshops will be offered over the weekend to show you how to incorporate nutritious and delicious seasonal plant based dishes.

Saturday morning may include a visit to an area Farmer’s Market to pick up ingredients for our culinary creations not available from our organic gardens.

Gluten Free & Green Summer Dishes – The focus of this workshop is using a variety of green vegetables to create gluten-free main and side dishes, including hearty Marinated Kale Salad; tasty Cooked Greens with Miso Dressing; and Sesame Broccoli Salad. For dessert, we’ll stick with our green theme with scrumptious Key Lime Tarts.

Introducing Plant-Based Foods – This workshop is designed to help you get more creative in the kitchen using high protein vegan ingredients. Menu will be dictated by participant interests. Overcome the challenge to make grains, legumes, and vegetables satisfying, tasty and appealing.

Saturday night options are a picnic dinner and free outdoor concert at Peterborough’s Musicfest featuring Serena Ryder.

Weekend package includes two nights shared accommodation, 6 meals, and 2 cooking workshops as well as full use of property, trails, and labryinth.

Private room for single occupancy also available at additional cost.
